DRDO : Defence research and development organization
- The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) was established in the year 1958 when the Indian Army’s Technical Development Establishments (TDEs) and the Directorate of Technical Development and Production (DTDP) merged with the Defense Science Organization (DSO).
- DRDO has created other major systems and critical technologies such as aircraft avionics, UAVs (Drones), small arms, artillery systems, EW Systems, tanks and armoured vehicles, sonar systems, command and control systems and missile systems.
