Full form of BMW (Name) is Bayerische Motoren Werke AG.
History of BMW:
Gustav Otto created the Otto Flugmaschinenfabrik in Bavaria in 1910. On March 7, 1916, the company was renamed Bayerische Flugzeugwerke AG. In 1922, the company was renamed Bayerische Motoren Werke.
Engineer Max Friz designed BMW’s first product, the BMW IIIa, a straight-six aviation engine, in the spring of 1917.
It continued to make motorcycle engines, farm equipment, home products, and railway brakes after World War I ended. In 1923, the BMW R 32 became the company’s first motorcycle.
The Dixi, BMW’s 1st ever car, was presented in the year 1928; happily, the name was erased and exchanged with DA-1.
The 1602e was BMW’s first electric vehicle, released in 1972. Somehow, it was never released to the public use. Because the car could only travel 37 miles on a single charge, the project as a whole has been deemed a failure.
They formed an aerodynamic motorcycle in the year 1937 that could reach speeds of 173.7 miles/ hr.
The iconic 1st type of “kidney-shaped” bonnet grille made its debut in the year 1933 on car- BMW 303.
